Total Time4 minutes
Course: Ingredents
Yield: 0.5 egg

Equipment

  • 1 scales
  • 2 small containers
  • 1 whisk or fork

Materials

  • 1 egg

Instructions

  • Place one container on the scales and set to zero
  • Crack the egg into the container and get the weight of the contents
  • Calculate half the contents of the container
  • Remove the container from the scales
  • Whisk the egg to incorporate the white and yoke. The aim is to ensure a consistent distribution between the two parts of the egg
  • Place the second, empty, container on the scales and set to zero
  • Tip the contents from the first container into the second container until you have the weight we calculated in step 3. The end result is we have half an egg in each container.

Notes

The process described is if you need both the white and yoke of an egg. However if you need just the white or the yoke, step 2 needs to be modified to just place the white or yoke into the container on the scales.
